'Static Resistance' is the new single from Hookworms. The second track to be taken from their forthcoming new album Microshift, due 2 February via Domino, the cut is a typically frenetic affair underpinned by a hypnotic, driving bass line and whirring organ lines that permeate throughout towards moments of euphoric intensity. Of the song, the Leeds five explain, "'Static Resistance' is the oldest track on the album, we wrote and recorded the first version of it early 2015, not very long after The Hum had been released. It's one of only two pre-flood songs on the record. It’s a song about the wax and wane of depression and an eternal want to escape the life you’ve built." The release comes amid a string of live dates across the UK and Europe throughout February and March. Hookworms are back and resistance is futile. -G.O'B
